I had planned to arrive in Iceland in the summer of 2019. From Cyprus where I had started to organize everything, I imagined yet another crossing from Europe from South to North, calculated my route, contacted the Danish ferry company, listed the splendid Icelandic decorations that I would like to discover, … My endless tour of Europe was soon to end in apotheosis. It was without counting on many twists and turns like life and travel can offer us.
In 2019, I was heading quietly to Iceland when I suffered a double inguinal hernia, which I had to have an operation and which immobilized me for five months. Summer was already way too gone when I was able to get back on the bike, so instead of continuing to Iceland, and its strong winds that I had prepared for, I went to the British Isles where it is the rain which made me see all the colors.
In 2020, I wanted to try my luck in Iceland once again, but it is for the reason that everyone knows, the Covid, that I could not go there !!! Ah Iceland … it’s my thorn in the side, the only country missing in my turn from Europe, a digested frustration, but I did not give up !!! To travel is to adapt constantly.
